In 1978 a group of housewives from the U. S. living in Quito, inspired by their missing the taste of their chocolates with the flavor and quality of the magnificent cacao found in the Center of the Earth created a company to manufacture chocolate bonbons at the artisan level. They sold their products in a different manner that had not been heard of in the country which consisted of giving customers the chance to choose the flavors.
Thus Chocolate Ecuatoriano C. A., Chocolateca, was born. It also means the place where chocolates are found – chocolate – teca.
In 1999, the founders decided to incorporate and open up to young people and modern technologies in all of their processes and the corporate moved ahead with management that was full of vitality and new ideas for maintaining the essence and the tradition of great flavor, gaining as a result the loyalty and preference of consumers.
To meet the requirements of corporate clients, they created a corporate line to offer solutions and personalized chocolates that identify their customers with the delicate flavor and distinction provided by La Chocolateca.
